Man Pleads Not Guilty to Burglary
The man who took police on a chase from Olean to Turtlepoint last week has pleaded not guilty to unrelated charges.
25-year-old Paul Tyler Jr. is charged in connection to house burglaries in Portville, Olean and Ellicottville last May and June. He and another person are accused of stealing electronics, jewelry, alcohol, a TV and other items worth more than $3,000.
On Thursday Tyler allegedly would not pull over for a traffic stop in Olean, rammed a police car, took officers on a chase to Turtlepoint, where he got out of his car and ran into the woods. Police did catch him and arrest him near Turtlepoint.
Tyler is being held in Cattaraugus County Jail without bail.
