Money to Help Struggling Families

Northern Tier Community Action Commission and the Warren-Forest Counties Economic Opportunity Council will each receive $449,664 in federal stimulus money to create economic opportunities and provide assistance to struggling families.

The NTCAC serves McKean, Potter, Elk and Cameron counties.

Agencies are to focus on providing economic opportunities for the newly unemployed and under-employed, as well as emergency food, housing and health services for people who have been adversely affected by the recession, according to Governor Ed Rendell.
